First pair of Socks

This is my first completed sock.
I followed a very basic and easy pattern I found for free from Knitting Daily called On-You-Toes Socks by Ann Budd.
For my first sock, I think I did pretty well.

For the first time, I tried a new method of striping.
Instead of simply changing colors and continuing the k2p2 ribbing, I knitted one whole row of the new color before continuing the patter.
It left me with a very nice stripped pattern with little to now jaggedy dashes.
As you can tell in the picture below, the changing of colors didn't always come out well, but I'll stop complaining; it is even, after all.

Another thing that I didn't like about it was the heel.
Made from the basic short row with YOs, it left two matching sides of wholes.
It just makes me cringe looking at it now.

I made that sock and its match in January.
Hopefully I can post my second pair of socks that I've made soon.
I like them a lot better, including the different kind of heel that I used instead of the short row YO kind.
I made the second pair in February, but I'm still not done weaving in all the ends. . .
I've lost my small crochet hook.
:)

When you give a girl two sticks. . .

She'll want a ball of yarn.

When you give her a ball of yarn,
She'll want a pattern to use.

When you give her a pattern,
She'll want to give it to someone.

When she has someone to give it too,
She'll want another project.

When she has another project,
She'll want some more sticks.

Hello everyone!

I'm Joy, a knitter, crocheter, tatter, and spinner who wants to learn more!
Okay. . . I'm a bit of an over achiever.
My current craft is knitting.
Especially socks.
I'm a college student who deams of the country and other worlds.
I'm a Christian who cannot get enough of the Word.
I'm, well, me.
I'm who God has made me to be.
I'm hoping to share here what I'm currently working on, and possibly share tips when I come across them.

Happy crafting!
